You can do this! Our aim is to break down the notion that wine is to be understood only by professionals who have spent decades tasting and evaluating wine. Learn how to put words to what you are tasting – you’ll be amazed at the power of your palate.

VINOUS GLOBE-TROTTING:
We spin the wine globe and put a finger down in Europe, the Americas, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East and beyond. We'll talk about terroir and how the stamp of a particular place can be found in a bottle.

DRINK CHEAP!
We are of the belief that wine belongs on the dinner table. Finding well-made wines that you can afford to drink on a regular basis is very gratifying. We’ll pour affordable wines that deliver incredible value and discuss how to go about finding similar wines.

HISTORY OF WINE:   
No, we won’t be digging up ancient Roman samples for this tasting, but we will provide contemporary examples made according to the same methods the ancients used and compare them to the ultra-modern. Along the way we’ll discuss the roots of wine and vine cultivation and how they’ve left their mark on culture.

WASHINGTON WINE 101:
Learn the difference between Walla Walla and Wahluke. Our own home state has come of age and is now recognized as a major contributor to the world of fine wine. We pour the best the state has to offer, including wines you’re not likely to find on the grocery store shelf.

Some of the most exciting things in wine are being done not by the old guard, but by a new and rising generation of wine makers.  Sample some of the world’s greatest producers that most people haven’t heard of  . . . yet.
